Curriculum

FATC offers the 24-week Applied Hydrographic Survey programme which is accredited by the International Board of Standards as a Category B vocational training course. The programme has been approved as meeting the standards designated by the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) and International Cartographic Association (ICA). Participants are awarded an internal award for meeting the standards required by the approving federation.

The programme provides face-to-face teaching, field research and report generation and includes a wide range of supported independent research activities that culminate in the production of a survey report of the local area. The course is designed to provide practical application and theory of maritime surveying and can be delivered to groups of a maximum of 12 participants.
