The Friends Therapeutic Community Trust (the Trust) provides an emotionally secure and monitored environment for adolescent boys who are at risk. The Trust typically supports 15 to 21-year-old young men who have been referred by local authorities and social services or as directed by the Court. The referrals are due to issues in regard to behaviour and specifically harmful sexual behaviour. Residents receive an intensive therapeutic programme alongside educational provision that comprises a wide range of accredited programmes from City and Guilds, OCR, NCFE etc. All residents undertake courses in Life and Functional Skills and Information Technology (IT). In addition, there is a wide optional programme covering subjects such as Horticulture, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Painting and Decorating, Catering and Hospitality and Construction. GCSE subjects are on offer and the Trust is looking into offering A-levels for suitable residents.
