Curriculum
The main focus of teaching is on portraiture, within a wider context of figuration and drawing. The School is able to support painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking (intaglio, relief, litho and screen) and ceramics at a professional level. It awards its own diploma on successful completion of full-time courses with an annual enrolment of about 45; artists often return to continue their studies. There is also a programme of short courses, attracting around 400 students a year; daytime, evening and weekend classes. A core group of practitioners leads specialist teams of artist-teachers, and tutors are supported by studio technicians.
