The UK independent higher education accreditation scheme is designed for those institutions which deliver programmes at HE levels.

The inspection criteria are intended to be specific to the delivery of higher education (particularly British higher education), in part reflecting learning outcomes which meet the guidelines developed by the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and the responsibilities of partner organisations set out in the Handbook for the Quality Management of Collaborative Provision developed by the Council of Validating Universities.

This accreditation scheme is available to any institution which is wholly or predominantly offering programmes at the level of higher education, normally in partnership with a university or other HE awarding body, and which offers its students a range of resources appropriate to those studying at the level of higher education.

For comprehensive information on the accreditation process please see the Accreditation Handbook September 2012.
