Institutions considering an application for accreditation should first read the Accreditation Handbook and ensure that they understand the application process, the standard of provision required and the responsibilities placed upon them by BAC accreditation.
Staff in our head office will be happy to issue you with your own hard copy of the Accreditation Handbook free of charge, while an electronic version can be downloaded here.
Once you have read all the information published in the handbook, you should assess whether you meet the eligibility criteria and standards required. Should you still have any questions you are invited to contact us before preparing your application for accreditation.
The application process for accreditation comprises:
- Download the correct application form
- Collate your documentation
Your application form will contain a list of required documentation – please ensure that all of this is included before you send your form to us.
- Include your application fee
Details of UK application fees can be found on our fees page. The initial application fee includes a deposit against your inspection. Please contact us directly for further information on our fees for overseas institutions.
- Send your form, payment and documentation to our head office
You should complete the application form with reference to the Accreditation Handbook (referring also to the corresponding guidance notes when directed). Please note that three copies of the application form and supporting documentation will be required as part of your submission.
N.B. We will only accept an application for accreditation which has been submitted directly by the institution. Please beware of any individuals offering to submit an application on your behalf, and be sure not to make any payment for the application except directly to BAC.
