Institutions considering an application for accreditation should first read the Accreditation Handbook and ensure that they understand the application process, the standard of provision required and the responsibilities placed upon them by BAC accreditation.

Staff in our head office will be happy to issue you with your own hard copy of the Accreditation Handbook free of charge, while an electronic version can be downloaded here.

Once you have read all the information published in the handbook, you should assess whether you meet the eligibility criteria and standards required. Should you still have any questions you are invited to contact us before preparing your application for accreditation.

The application process for accreditation comprises:

  • Complete an enquiry and send it to BAC

The enquiry form is available on each scheme page. https://www.the-bac.org/accreditation/accreditation-schemes/

  • Book an online meeting with a BAC scheme manager

Once the enquiry form has been received a member of BAC staff will contact you to arrange a meeting. After the online meeting, the application form and the guidance documents will be sent to you.

  • Collate your documentation

Your application form will contain a list of required documentation. Please ensure that all of this is included before you send your form to us.

  • Include your application fee

Please click here for details of accreditation fees / fees brochure.

You should complete the application form with reference to the corresponding guidance documents sent following the online meeting.

N.B. We will only accept an application for accreditation which has been submitted directly by the institution. Please beware of any individuals offering to submit an application on your behalf, and be sure not to make any payment for the application except directly to BAC.
