"Managing Quality"

This seminar will usually be led by Professor Steve Bristow.

Steve Bristow is Head of Inspection Services at BAC.  In his role as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Services and Quality Enhancement at the University of Glamorgan, Steve chaired the University’s Quality and Standards Committee for six years. He has been a member of a number of CNAA, HEQC and QAA committees concerned with quality matters and has been an External Examiner at a number of institutions in the UK and Ireland. He is currently Chief External Examiner for the Institute of Directors. He is also an experienced NVQ Assessor in Management.

This seminar will:

  • Consider different approaches to quality assurance and quality enhancement
  • Outline BAC’s threshold standards for the Management of Quality and illustrate these in practice
  • Give examples of good and poor practice in quality management
  • Identify systems needed to underpin effective quality management in degreelevel, professional body and NVQ assessment schemes
  • Give an opportunity for professional networking with other delegates and with BAC officers
