"Falling Foul of the Law - a guide to business law for Colleges"

The next edition of this seminar will be held on Tuesday 1st July 2008, led by Professor Steve Bristow.

Prof Bristow is Head of Inspection Services at BAC, and Chief External Examiner for the Institute of Directors, as well as a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a member of the Institute of Business Consulting.  He has been a Director of a number of private and charitable companies in the UK and Malaysia.

This seminar will:

  • outline the key features of the law relating to independent colleges
  • provide delegates with a toolkit for their personal future reference
  • give an opportunity for professional networking with other delegates and with BAC officers

It will draw on cases from College experience and will be supported by internet references.  The areas to be covered will include: Child Protection; Company Law; Copyright and Intellectual Property; Data Protection; Degree and other Qualification Awards; Disability Discrimination; Employment Law; Equal Opportunities; Health and Safety; Immigration; and Taxation.
