June 2012 Quality Assurance

This event is designed to inform institutions about how they can improve their quality assurance procedures, looking at standards established by BAC, QAA and ISI, and based on the expertise of inspectors in this area. There will also be sessions on self evaluation and improving external relations and publicity.

September 2012 Meet the Awarding Bodies

This event will provide an opportunity for institutions operating in the independent further and higher education sector to meet with a range of awarding bodies and consider how they might change and/or improve their course offers. There will also be opportunities to discuss approval or validation of internally assessed courses.

November 2012 Raising Management Profiles

There will be presentations on continuing professional development opportunities from a range of different organisations, as well as case studies of best practice and suggestions for improvement from inspectors.

This event will look at how institutions can improve their approach to teaching and learning, looking at a number of different factors including challenging students, different learning styles, cultural differences and students with special needs. The session will also cover issues of lesson planning and provide some ideas about the resources available to support institutions in dealing with these challenges successfully.
