CEO Blog – December 2015

17, December, 2015|

Since my last post we have seen the publication of the government Higher Education Green Paper (Please click here for a summary).  Whilst the Green Paper is a consultative document it seems likely that the HE sector in the UK will see the introduction of a Teaching Excellence Framework, the creation of an Office for Students and a move towards the reduction of barriers to entry for new providers.  Exactly how this plays [...]

CEO Blog – November 2015

10, November, 2015|

I hope that this message finds you well. With the Green Paper on Higher Education just published, reforms to the Tier 4 Student Visa regime likely to be announced any day and the Autumn Spending Review due on the 25th November, you would be forgiven for thinking that we would be running out of space needed for coverage. The Green Paper on Higher education proposed the introduction of a Teaching Excellence [...]

In October, Tony Evans, who joined us in March, decided to leave BAC for pastures new. Our Inspections Manager, Christina To, also left us in October. However, on the plus side, we were fortunate in being able to [...]

Welcome to what will be my final blog as Chief Executive of BAC, including updates on plans for regulating HE. A Distinctly International Feel

20, October, 2013|

Over the past year we have been in discussion with the Higher Education Council, part of Bahrain’s Ministry of Education, regarding providing support in setting up an accreditation framework for Bahrain’s private universities to supplement existing quality assurance processes. On 16 September 2013, the [...]
