International accreditation

Since 2000, institutions operating outside the UK have been able to apply for accreditation under BAC's international accreditation scheme.
BAC now accredits institutions in more than 10 countries around the world, including France, Germany, Greece, India, South Africa and the Lebanon.
British qualifications are highly sought after across the globe, and the institutions outside the UK that teach them often find it invaluable to receive a British perspective on their own quality assurance processes, which is exactly what BAC can provide.
Which institutions are eligible?
Independent educational institutions operating outside the UK are eligible to apply for BAC's international accreditation if they meet one or more of the following requirements:
- You work in a formal collaborative partnership with a UK Higher Education institution with degree awarding powers (this means one of the Recognised Bodies on the list found at www.bis.gov.uk/policies/higher-education/recognised-uk-degrees/recognise...).
- You work in a formal collaborative partnership with one of the UK's Royal Chartered Bodies.
- You offer programmes of further or higher education recognised by Ofqual at level 5 or above on the National Qualifications Framework or the Qualifications and Credit Framework in England (or their devolved equivalents in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland).
- Your institution is in common ownership with a BAC-accredited institution already operating in the UK.
The final decision on eligibility does, however, rest with BAC. If you think that you do not yet meet our eligibility criteria but are still interested in attaining international accreditation, please contact BAC to discuss how we can help you meet our eligibility criteria.
