Changes in Charging for New Applications
From 1 January 2010, there will be a change to the application charges listed in section 10.1.1 of the Accreditation Handbook UK 2009-10. This applies to new applicants only.
All new applications for accreditation must be accompanied by a payment of £1650. This covers both the £330 cost of the application and a deposit of £1320 which will be offset against the inspection costs. Applications will not be processed until this fee has been received.
The £1320 deposit will be refunded to the institution if an inspection is not in the process of being arranged within six months of receipt of the application form. This refund will however signify the applicant's failure to clear Stage 1 of the accreditation process, and a new application accompanied by a new payment of £1650 will be required should the institution still wish to pursue accreditation by BAC.
Please note that neither the application fee nor the inspection fees have been changed. Please see section 10 of the Accreditation Handbook for further details of the inspection and accreditation fees.
