tonyThe British Accreditation Council has appointed Mr Tony Evans as its Chief Executive, in succession to Dr Gina Hobson. Tony was formerly Director of Language Programmes for INTO University Partnerships, Principal of St Giles London Central, and is a long-serving member of English UK’s Accreditation and Professional Services Board. He has over 20 years’ experience of working with international students predominantly in the ELT sector. Peter Williams CBE, Chairman of BAC, said, ‘We are very fortunate to have appointed Tony Evans as the Chief Executive of BAC. He comes to us with considerable experience and has exactly the right background to take BAC into the next stage of its development. We are greatly looking forward to his leadership at this important time for the organisation.’ Tony Evans said ‘I am  delighted to be offered the opportunity to join the team at BAC and to continue the excellent work they do. I am passionate about education and about quality standards in education, and as such I believe voluntary accreditation schemes have a vital role to play. Not only do they encourage member institutions to aim higher, but they promote greater transparency with respect to the general public.’ Tony will be joining BAC on 3 March 2014.
